Levita Almuete Ferrer, 64, a former senior budget analyst in the Office of the Chief of Protocol, admitted to embezzling $657,347.50 over two years. According to a report by the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for D.C., she wrote dozens of checks to herself and deposited them into personal accounts while disguising them in the State Department\u2019s accounting system.<\/p>\n
