Having a dog around a small helpless baby is a situation that can cause concern for some people, especially when it comes to certain dog breeds with a reputation for being \u201caggressive\u201d.<\/p>\n

But one California mom has her pet pit bull to thank for saving her and her baby\u2019s lives.Mom Latana Chai says baby Masailah and pet dog Sasha were born just days apart and spend every moment together, sharing a bed and even a bath.<\/p>\n

But their bond was about to become even stronger when a a fire broke out in their neighbor\u2019s home.<\/p>\n

It was around midnight one Saturday night when Latana noticed Sasha behaving very strangely.<\/p>\n

\u201cI heard like, a loud bang and I was like, \u2018what\u2019s going on?\u2019 I heard Sasha crying and she kept jumping at the door. As soon as I got to the door, she runs in and starts barking,\u201d Latana said, according to Kare 11<\/p>\n

Found the pit bull in the baby\u2019s bedroom
\nWhen she opened the door to let Sasha in she ran to Masailah\u2019s room. Then she noticed black smoke coming from the ceiling, a fire that was spreading from their neighbor\u2019s house to theirs.<\/p>\n

Mom Latana quickly rushed to her baby\u2019s room and found Sasha grabbing Masailah by the diaper and pulling her to safety.<\/p>\n

The family credits Sasha\u2019s early warning barks for keeping them safe.<\/p>\n
