The orderly could hear screaming from Room No. 7 every night when an unknown man came to see the elderly patient

Nightly Screams
For several nights, the orderly heard strange, muffled screams coming from Room No. 7. They appeared around the same hour each evening—when the corridors emptied and the lights dimmed.

She paused in the hall, bucket in hand, listening. The sounds weren’t ordinary cries of pain. They were quiet, suppressed, desperate. Each night, the feeling clung to her nerves, leaving a chill she couldn’t shake.

The Patient and the Visitor
The elderly patient in Room No. 7 was quiet and tidy, grateful for any help. Confined to bed with a broken hip, she rarely complained—but lately, she flinched at sudden noises and stared at the floor more than usual. Then the visitor arrived. A man came every evening, always alone. Polished, confident, and calm, he introduced himself as a relative. But after his visits, the patient’s eyes were red, her hands cold, and once, the orderly noticed a bruise on her wrist.

Attempts to question the patient failed. She would whisper that everything was fine. Colleagues warned her not to interfere. “He’s a relative. It’s none of your business,” they said.

Yet the crying continued.

Planning to Reveal the Truth
One night, the orderly overheard harsh whispers and a short scream. She couldn’t sleep. Fear turned into resolve. If no one would see, she would.

The next evening, she entered early. The room was dim, the patient asleep. She lowered herself to the floor, crawling under the bed. Dust, cold linoleum, rusty springs above her head. Her heart raced.

Footsteps approached. The door creaked. He entered.

A Terrifying Discovery

From under the bed, she saw only his shoes and the edge of the bed. At first, he spoke calmly, insisting the patient sign papers for a house she supposedly didn’t need. She cried, refusing.

Then his tone darkened. He threatened her with medications, claiming he could make the doctors ignore her condition. He warned that if she resisted, her health would worsen.

The orderly held her breath.

He produced a dark, unmarked syringe. Despite the patient’s protests, he began the injection. Her scream pierced the silence, her hand falling limply onto the sheet.

Intervention and Justice
Overwhelmed with terror, the orderly sprang from under the bed, screaming. She flung the door open. Nurses and the on-duty doctor rushed in. The man was detained immediately.

The syringe was confiscated, and in his bag, authorities found pre-prepared documents waiting for the patient’s signature. Later, it was confirmed the injections were not medication at all—they were the cause of her sudden deterioration.

Courage that Saved a Life
Thanks to the orderly’s bravery, the elderly patient survived. The night that began with muffled screams ended with justice and exposure. Her vigilance uncovered the truth—and stopped a dangerous threat in its tracks.
