When Family Crosses the Line Between Help and Betrayal

I loaned my younger brother $3,000 to cover rent after he lost his job. I didn’t hesitate—family is supposed to be there for each other. I tightened my own budget, skipped nights out, and postponed bills to make sure he had a roof over his head. But two weeks later, scrolling through Instagram, I felt my chest tighten.
