The two halves matched perfectly. On the back was a faded inscription: E.K. — My light always returns. Richard’s hands trembled as he read it. Then the powerful businessman dropped to his knees in front of the woman Daniel had treated like nothing.

“Elizabeth,” he whispered through tears. “My daughter.” Shock spread through the ballroom. For thirty years, Richard and Eleanor believed their little girl died in a tragic crash. Instead, she had survived and disappeared into the system unnoticed.

Daniel’s panic lasted only seconds before greed replaced it. Suddenly, he called Emily “baby” and claimed he always knew she was special. Emily stepped away from him immediately. For the first time in years, she saw him clearly.

“You never loved me,” she told him coldly. “You loved status.” Richard turned toward Daniel with icy calm and fired him on the spot while stunned investors watched in disgust-
