Our Siamese cat, Bootsie, sleeps with our little son every night. One morning, I walked in and saw her grab something dark with her teeth, jump out of the crib, and run away.
It happened again and again—about ten times. I finally decided I had to figure out what Bootsie was carrying, so I watched closely and caught her in the middle of her little maneuver.
When I looked at what she had in her mouth, I couldn’t believe it. Mamma mia—it was my cashmere scarf! Apparently, my son calms down much faster when he has the scarf nearby.
Bootsie had figured this out all by herself. Now, every night, she proudly carries my scarf to the crib whenever the baby needs comfort. Our cat has officially become the family’s tiniest—and most dedicated—comfort courier.
