A Birthday Balloon Led To A Heartbreaking Family Tragedy

The death of eight-year-old Joshua Dunbar turned a joyful birthday into tragedy after he was found unresponsive beside a

helium-filled number-eight balloon.

According to the account, an inquest concluded that he died from asphyxia associated with helium, highlighting the danger of inhaling the gas because it can displace oxygen and cause rapid loss of consciousness.

His mother, Carly Dunbar, later shared the heartbreaking story to warn other parents about the risks of children playing with or inhaling helium from balloons.
