Vitamin D Overload: Warning Signs You Should Stop Supplements Before It Harms Your Health

Vitamin D is essential for strong bones, immune support, and overall health, but maintaining the right balance is important. While insufficient vitamin D can contribute to weakened bones and reduced immune function, excessive intake can be harmful. Because vitamin D is fat-soluble, it can accumulate in the body, and very high amounts may cause vitamin D toxicity and hypercalcemia, potentially affecting the kidneys, bones, and digestive system.

Vitamin D can also be obtained through sensible sun exposure and foods such as fatty fish and fortified dairy products. Supplements can be useful when dietary intake or sun exposure is insufficient, but more is not necessarily better. Maintaining an appropriate intake and seeking professional guidance when needed can help ensure that vitamin D provides its health benefits without creating the risks associated with excessive amounts…READ MORE BELOW
