I bought Titanic as a birthday surprise for my wife, but when our three-year-old saw it, I simply told him it was a movie for grown-ups.
He took those words very seriously and spent the day proudly telling everyone at school that his parents had a “special movie” they weren’t allowed to watch.
His teacher explained the story at pickup, leaving me embarrassed but amused by how creatively he had interpreted my innocent comment.
