10-Year-Old Perla Alison Found Dead After Four-Day Search in Mexico City

The body of Perla Alison, a 10-year-old girl who went missing in Santa Martha Acatitla, was found Tuesday evening in an abandoned lot near the Constitución de 1917 metro station. Her disappearance last Friday had triggered a nationwide Amber Alert and a widespread community search.

Perla had left home to buy candy but never returned. Her family quickly alerted authorities, and volunteers joined in, distributing flyers and sharing her photo on social media.

The grim discovery came when a neighbor reported a foul smell coming from a deserted area. Police arrived, and forensic teams later recovered Perla’s body, which showed clear signs of violence.

Authorities have launched a femicide investigation, Mexico’s highest legal classification for gender-based killings. Early findings suggest physical and sexual abuse, though an autopsy will confirm the cause of death. Investigators are reviewing security footage and interviewing locals.

The case has sparked public outrage, with women’s rights groups and citizens demanding justice and accountability. Many say Perla’s murder highlights the constant threat faced by women and girls in Mexico.

Outside Perla’s home, neighbors have left candles, flowers, and messages, mourning her loss and vowing not to forget her. Her family, devastated, has promised to pursue justice.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to help piece together Perla’s final hours.

The tragic end to Perla Alison’s life has become a rallying cry for a community demanding protection and change.
