She Called Me a Failure, Then Begged Me to Save Her Company 💔

In college, I spent over $900 helping my roommate Alyssa afford food when she was broke and struggling. Six years later, after losing my job when my company closed, I approached Alyssa, whose small business was thriving, hoping for an interview. Instead, she laughed in front of her staff and said, “We’re not a charity! I don’t hire failures!” Humiliated, I walked away, but two days later, she called me in tears because her biggest client threatened to cancel their contract after learning how she had treated me. That client was a woman I had worked with for years and had personally recommended Alyssa’s company to. She told Alyssa, “The woman you called a failure is the reason you have my account. If that’s how you treat people who helped you, I’m taking my business elsewhere.” Facing the possible collapse of her company, Alyssa offered me a job. I accepted, not for her sake, but for my own future, and eventually became head of operations. Today, that client and I meet every Friday, while Alyssa has never mentioned the $900 I once gave her. She learned the hard way that the person she called a failure was the very person who helped build her success. Never underestimate the people who once helped you when you had nothing. ❤️
