His family said he had appeared completely healthy and remembered him as intelligent, gentle, caring, and full of life, while teammates knew him as a passionate football player who wore No. 42. As his loved ones prepare to say goodbye, a GoFundMe has been created to help with medical and funeral expenses, while family friends are calling for better access to automated external defibrillators (AEDs) at sporting events to improve emergency response in similar situations.
